![]() But I am just happy, that it works now (and hope it stays that way xD). I hope, 8BitDo can make their drivers more robust in the future. And then I only bound the Pro 2 in Switch mode via Bluetooth. What I also did in the last testing: I removed ALL my 8BitDo devices from the classic Windows Control Panel (Devices and Printers section). But maybe it's something entirely different. Maybe just rebooting the PC after it will help. Maybe there are some issues after first binding. However, from my experience, pairing through the dongle will not allow any other mode but XInput, even on Desktop without Steam Link. Just press the dongle button and pair the controller with XInput. Long-press "Start" to wake up the Pro 2 (switch at the back on S for "Switch mode"). Using the 8 Bit Do dongle did the trick and made the process much simpler. However, you’ll need the 8Bitdo Wireless USB Adapter if you intend to play games outside of Steam. So I did that, turned on/off the controller, put it on the USB-cable, did something in the Ultimate Software. Sticking to Steam means the Pro Controller is recognized as an Xbox One controller. But I can only guess: When I tried it before I obviously had to bind it to my PC first. 12065.9535.45mm 82. I can't believe it! It suddenly works (with the Pro 2, didn't test the SN30 Pro again yet)! But everything was also much more rudimentary. ![]() ![]() There were no intermediate layers, everything was simple. It had mechanical switches connected to wires, and those wires were connected directly to the I/O chip on the console. The Atari 2600 controller was the complete opposite. It is also the followup to 8BitDo’s excellent SN30 Pro+ controller. It works with Switch, PC, Mac, Android, Raspberry Pi, and more. Sidenote: So, yeah, there are too many layers: firmware on the gamepad itself, Bluetooth hardware on both devices, Bluetooth software stack on the operating system, gamepad input drivers on the operating system, Steam controller detection/emulation/remapping… There are many pieces that must work together, and it's hard to know where is the problem when something doesn't work. The 8BitDo Pro 2 is 50, and it’s now available from Amazon. ![]() (Updating to the latest firmware may help to some extent, your mileage may vary.) I say that because it worked fine when connected via USB, and afterwards it sometimes worked via Bluetooth, and sometimes didn't. I have a theory: in Bluetooth mode, the gamepad may end up disabling the gyro circuit in order to save battery. I have an 8BitDo SN30+, and the gyro sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.
